January 10, 2019 - Hello Philippines
I arrived in Manila on August 10, 2019 at 05.00 a.m. The food I first bought at the airport was "Jolly Bee" which tastes good and unique. Then at 5:00 p.m. I continued my trip to Legazpi. Then I was picked up by the SEA-TEACHER Coordinator of the project from the University of Saint Anthony, Mr. Rafael V. Oñate and also the junior high school’s dean, Dr. Ariene O. Monsalve. This is my first experience going to the Philippines to practice teaching and exploring cultural differences in the Philippines which is certainly different from Indonesia.
On January 11, 2019 - Full Team Welcoming
I and friends from Indonesia, Triana Mey Linda, Yudy Aramanto, Natasya Helma Noerjannah, Tazkiatun Nafst Azzahra and Thai friend Suthathip Nucklee, Panida Jeenmai, Khemmarin Poenshlemmio were welcomed by the school and were served breakfast together. Then we were directed to talk about the culture of Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand with the President of the University of Saint Anthony, Dr. Santiago G. Ortega St., Dean in junior high school, SEA-TEACHER coordinator and Buddies namely Sherill, Thieel, Harold, Alexa, Nathania, and Von Von. Filipino residents are very kind and friendly I feel very happy.
In the afternoon we were invited to tour the city of Iriga. Because the location of the University of Saint Anthony is in the center of Iriga, we can go to the market or LCC to shop for food or daily necessities on foot. Product prices in the Philippines are affordable because they are not too expensive.
